Early in the morning at 6:45 am you are transferred from your hotel to main harbor and ride on a tourist motor boat. Once aboard our first place to visit is the Uros reed floating island, the first inhabitants of the world and black blooded people according to their legends. Located just 8 km from main port of Puno, after 35 minutes sailing we get one of them where you’ll learn more about their life, exploring surroundings by reed boat (Optional).
Then we go straight to Taquile Island passing through on blue waters of the lake surrounded by Capachica and Chucuito peninsulas. Taquile has a small main square which is about 35 minutes walk up there, finding there the textile museum, community houses, a good viewpoint to see the snowed mountains in the Bolivian side of the lake or Amantani island. At this point locals are always wearing traditional clothes and weaving their own sweaters. It’s recognized by the UNESCO as the world’s heritage. Islanders are community families. After lunch you go back down through the five hundred and twenty steps and board the boat to take you back Puno´s harbor. Finally get dropped off by hotels at 5:15 pm.
