Detailed Itinerary

The Aymara language island of Anapia is located in the Wiñaymarka section of Lake Titicaca, near the southern Bolivian border. This off the beaten path 2-Day Wiñaymarca Kayak Trip begins in Puno where you board a private mobility for guided visits to a series of interesting attractions along the south shore of the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca or just called Lupi Jaqe the Aymara South Route.

Stop firstly at the Inca Uyo stonework locally known as an Incan “temple of fertility”. Then, go to the Doorway of Aramu Muru, a portal sculpted into a huge piece of stone. Finally, non-stop driving to Yunguyo Punta Hermosa port.

On arrival you’ll switch and take kayaking lessons from your guide. Following that, start traversing the blue waters appreciating some of the best views of Cordillera Real Range combined with Lake Titicaca scenery. You kayak for approximately 3½ hours to the flat but fertile Anapia Island. On this island family host will meet us and drive us to their home for an overnight stay. The rest of the day is then spent farming, tending to the animals, or playing with the children, and also includes a hiking trip to nearby Yuspique Island home to more than 100 wild vincuñas. Evening’s activities include traditional family life such as music or dance.

Next day, after an early breakfast, we are heading back to Puno by the same way and your trip continues on with a visit of the Dominican Colonial church in Pomata village and colonial Jesuit heritage in Juli village.  Back to Puno and drop off by your hotel.
