For three days you will have the chance to explore the most significant places: you will cross through the Salar de Uyuni and visit Incahuasi, admire the beauty of the national reserve Eduardo Avaroa, experience the mountain lagoons, the Siloli desert, the "Morning sun" geyser field and the Polques hot springs.

A three-day private premium trip to Salar de Uyuni is the best way to fully enjoy the world's largest Salar in the comfiest conditions!

Thanks to a private car tour with an experienced driver, your schedule will be much more flexible because you won't have to follow the established schedules for the whole organized group.

Your ride will be very convenient as there will be fewer people in the vehicle. Also, you will stay in 3-star hotels that provide high-quality service and heating in the rooms, which is especially appreciated by travelers during the chilly months (from June to September).

The whole ride is done in a 7-seat off-road car - exclusively for your family or group. The tour includes two nights in one of the most spectacular hotels in Salar: The Palacio de Sal built entirely from salt and Taika del Desierto.

In total, you will travel 560 miles (900km) in 4x4, with an experienced driver who will ensure your quality and safety during the journey. Additionally, you will get included an English speaking tour guide.

Private Tour Uyuni Salt Flats itinerary

Day 1: Uyuni - Train cemetery - Uyuni Salt Flats - Playa Blanca museum - Incahuasi island - Palacio de Sal hotel

Your private driver will pick you up from your Uyuni accommodation, bus terminal or the airport between 8:40 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Just after starting the tour you will make a stop at the Cementerio de Trenes, where you will be able to see the abandoned old locomotives, which create a unique landscape surrounded by a harsh desert space. Then you will be on your way to the small town of Colchani, where you will visit the salt museum and the refinery where salt is processed. In addition, you will have a chance to visit the local craft shops in the village.

After exploring the city of Colchani you will visit the salt flat, the piles of salt, the eyes of the salt flat (Ojos de Sal) and also the Museo Playa Blanca, built with salt blocks. Then it will be time to take the most spectacular photos and have dinner at the museum - depending on the time.

Then you will go to the Incahuasi island, a full of vegetation in the middle of the desert with a unique ecosystem full of giant cacti known as “cardones”. In addition, thanks to the island's elevation, this is the best place to enjoy the view and take stunning pictures. Then you will go for a short walk, and if the weather permits, you will eat outside a hot, delicious lunch prepared by the driver!

After lunch, you will continue your adventure in the 4x4 towards the Palacio de Sal hotel.

Upon arrival you will enjoy a wonderful sunset - this is one moment that will make your trip unforgettable! A delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the hotel and you will spend the night in a suite with a view of the salt flats (depends on availability).

Day 2: Palacio de Sal hotel - Lagunas altiplánicas - Eduardo Avaroa reserve - Siloli desert - Taika del Desierto hotel

To visit many places, you will get up early to enjoy the daylight. You will start the 4x4 ride to San Cristobal. You will visit Valle de Rocas, Sora Canyon, and Ollague Volcano. Finally, you will arrive at the lagoons of Capañas, Hedionda, Hona and Ramadita, known as altiplanic or coloured lagoons. You will stop at each of these lagoons and take your time to admire each one of them.

After visiting the lagoons you will enter the Eduardo Avaroa national reserve and the Siloli desert, situated over 16,000 feet (5,000 metres) above sea level. This desert has incredible volcanic landscapes of different colours and its famous stone tree. You will end the day when you arrive the Tayka Desert Hotel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Taika del Desierto hotel - Sol de la Mañana - Aguas Termales - Salvador Dalí desert - Laguna Verde - Uyuni

On the last day, you will wake up early to visit the Colorado Lagoon, full of pink flamingos and arrive in time to see the “Sol de Mañana” geyser field, as the activity of its fumaroles is more frequent earlier on in the day. Only then you can see active geysers, fumaroles and also a small crater with volcanic lava.

Next, you will go to the Polques thermal baths, where you will take a relaxing bath in a natural pool with thermal water and experience the incredible sensation of warm water and cold air outside. After your bath, you will go to the Salvador Dalí Desert and visit Lagunas Verde y Blanca. You will be delighted with the views of the Licancabur volcano in the background - it's an ideal place to explore the area.

Start the journey back to Uyuni, making a small stop at Laguna Negra to eat until you will finally arrive in Uyuni at 7:00 p.m.

If you need to return earlier to catch your transport - ask the driver.
