2-Day: Taquile Speed Boat Tour & La Paz

First day you’ll get a shared guided boat tour to Uros and Taquile Islands by a fast boat. This speed transportation will allow you to explore with plenty of time each place.
Next day you’ll be picked up and then transferred to Desaguadero, on the way get some photo stops at the temple of fertility, Aramu Muru Doorway and at Pomata Lake view point.
On arrival to Desaguadero border you’ll meet your Bolivian guide and driver, and then go to Tiwanaku for lunch and guided visit to its archaeological site.
Finally, later get transferred to La Paz when approaching the city the guide will invite you to do photo stops.
What you’ll do (Tour Description)
DAY 1: Puno, Uros & Taquile Island Speed Boat Trip + lunch
7:00 am after the pick-up from your hotel in Puno city, we head down to the port.
Here, we onboard the speed boat which will take us to the Uros Islands.
We’ll get to know how this people make their floating homes, learn about their origins and the life style they have now.
Almost 2 hours to visit these Islands, souvenir shopping opportunities and also reed boat ride chance.
9:30 am after visiting the Uros “commercial” Island the boat leaves Uros for Taquile. Our estimated time to reach Taquile is 1h 20min while regular slow boats do in almost 3 hours.
On the way gain some beautiful views of the Lake.
11:00 am we arrive to Huayllano port in the Southern Taquile Island.
11:00 am the boat navigates toward the Northern side of Uros Uros Floating Islands. Here we'll have lunch and spend the night. These islands are eco-lodges with facilities included. You can choose among Aruma Uro Lodge, Uros Summa Paqarina Lodge, Qhantany Lodge or Khantaty Lodge.
Day 2: Uros, Puno, Chucuito, Aramu Muru, Lake View Point, Desaguadero, Tiwanaku, Lunch and La Paz Transfer
6:30 am suggested time to have breakfast, as private service breakfast can be arranged for later.
7:30 am a member of the lodge will transfer you from Uros lodge to the local Utos Kalapajra port where our private vehicle will be waiting to take you to the Desaguadero border.
Along the way there are three stops. The first one is at Chucuito temple of fertility an interesting Inca guilding dedicated to Pacha Mama.
The second stop is located 1h 10min away from Chucuito, at first glance you'll see a stone sculpture of a giant portal in the landscape, spectacular natural rock formation landscape.
Our last stop will be at the lookout of Pomata, appreciate in the distance the Sun Island and the Snowy mountains in Bolivia.
10.00 am Finally we get to Desaguadero. Our Bolivian guide will help you cross the border and lead you to the Bolivian vehicle. This process usually takes less than 30 min if you don't require Tourist Visa to enter Bolivia.
11.30 am (in Bolivia is one hour ahead) out Bolivian counterparts are taking you to Tiwanaku site for 35 min. At the site you have lunch and get the guided visit to the main attractions such as Puma Punku, the temple of Kalasasaya, Akhapana pyramid, the two museums, and the subterranean temple.
Your estimated time is about 4 hours including lunch time.
4:00 pm at this time you're heading to La Paz (maybe earlier, up to you and the situation).
6.30 pm estimated arrival time to downtown La Paz hotels, if your hotel is in the Southern La Paz that will take 20 min more of drive. Our guide will accompany you until your hotel.
