This Uyuni one-day tour to the Salt Flats is perfect if you have little time to visit it. Enjoy one of the most incredible landscapes on the planet, the infinite salt desert. You will visit the train cemetery, the curious Incahuasi Island, have lunch in the heart of the Salar and watch a magical sunset.

Train Cemetery
After being picked up at our hotel, we will board a private 4x4 vehicle and head to the first stop: the train cemetery, a landscape formed by the remains of what was once a symbol of Bolivian development.
Colchani Salt Refinery
We will continue our journey through the Salar and visit the Colchani village, a salt refinery center.
Just a few meters away we will see the piles and the salt eyes, to understand how the extraction process works.
Incahuasi Island
We will enter the salt flats and make a first long stop at the Incahuasi Island, the entrance fee is 30 Bolivian pesos (included).
Walking along its paths we will see the different species of cactus that inhabit it. In addition, as it is the highest point, it offers a better perspective to appreciate the salt flat. Take the opportunity to take some incredible pictures of the place.
Lunch at Uyuni Salt Flats
After the visit to Incahuasi Island, we will leave for lunch together in the middle of the salt flat. The guide will prepare the table and chairs and cook for us to enjoy our meal with one of the best possible views of the Salar de Uyuni.
First Salt Hotel - DAKAR Statue
After lunch, we will continue on our way to continue touring the Salar de Uyuni in one day. We will make a stop at the first Salt Hotel that was built in the Salar: the Playa Blanca Hotel. Here we will be able to take pictures in front of the famous DAKAR statue.

Uyuni Salt Flats Sunset
On the way back we will stop in a quiet area where we can admire the magical sunset over the salt flat before leaving for Uyuni, where we will arrive around 07:00 P.M.

Important information
During the rainy season (from December to March approximately) the itinerary may be modified, since the salt flat is flooded and some areas such as Incahuasi Island or some accommodations may not be accessible. The flooded areas change constantly, so depending on the situation at that time the driver will offer the best alternative to enjoy the tour.

Where does the tour Uyuni Salt Flats tour 1 day start?
If you are planning to arrive from La Paz you can fly directly to Uyuni.
If you plan to travel to Uyuni by land you should take a bus. We recommend taking the night bus which departs from La Paz at 8 p.m. with the bus company called Todo Turismo or Panasur (bed type seats).
Upon arrival, you will have time for breakfast before starting the tour.
• If you arrive in Uyuni on the same day as the tour starts, we offer you a free transfer from the bus station or airport to Uyuni.
• If you arrive in Uyuni before the day the tour starts, your pick-up point will be your accommodation in Uyuni.

During what times of the year can you see the Mirror Effect?
The Mirror Effect occurs during the rainy season, so it can be seen during the months of January, February and March.
How is the weather? Is it very cold?
You need to keep in mind that this tour is in a high altitude and isolated area, so during winter the weather is very cold. These are the seasons during the year. - From October to March temperatures are warm, so days are around 20ºC (68ºF) and nights are less than 5ºC (41 ºF). - From April to September temperatures are cold, so days are around 10ºC (50ºF) and nights are around -5ºC( 23ºF) It is highly recommended to wear winter clothes during June, July and August months due to these months are coldest.
How can I get from Uyuni to La Paz?
The best way to get to Uyuni from La Paz is by plane or bus. We recommend the night bus of the company Todo Turismo and Panasur, which arrives in Uyuni at 6:00 a.m.
What kind of transportation is used for the trips?
This private tour is done in 4x4 car with 7 seats, 4 seats for our travelers and one extra for the driver.
Is there a choice of having a vegetarian menu without gluten...?
Yes, you just need to leave a note while you are making your booking so the driver will cook a special menu for you. In case of strong allergies pay special attention and for vegetarian/vegan diets, we recommend to bring snacks or any other complement due to our food will not have a high level protein on it like tofu or tempeh.
Do I need to bring money on the tour?
Yes, due during the tour you may need to buy water or souvenir, so it is advisable to bring around 100 pesos bolivianos.
In which hotels is pick-up not included?
