What You’ll Do
In the afternoon, you’ll be picked up at your hotel by our team and driven to the salt flats by a private 4x4WD transport.
Then after enjoy the view of the sun setting over the salt flats. Later, you’ll have the chance to watch the starts and constellations. You’ll be dropped at your hotel.
Your Tour Itinerary
3:30 pm – Uyuni town to the Salt Flats car transfer
You’ll be picked up at your selected hotel in downtown Uyuni by our team and get transferred to the large salt flats.
You’ll drive for more than 70 minutes by a private 4x4WD vehicle. You’ll enter the more than 10,000 square kilometers that form the Salar de Uyuni and go through the salt Eyes still under the daylight.
Your guide and driver will look for panoramas, where you feel unique on the planet, the perfect place to appreciate 360-degree views and for the funniest and craziest perspective pictures and videos.
You’ll wait for the sun to set. As you wait, your driver and guide prepare a snack of chips (snack of crisps) and red wine. There is nothing better to say goodbye to this magical sunset than a glass of wine in hand. The guide will prepare a small tasting of local wine that you will enjoy under the last rays of light.
6:30 pm – Uyuni Sunset at the Salt Flat
Finally, the most awaited moment will be happening: the sun setting over the Uyuni Salt Flats as the sun slowly goes down behind the white horizon, admire the stunning change of colors over the Salar de Uyuni as you witness the sun slowly disappearing over its vast landscape. It’s the perfect end to a beautiful afternoon spent entirely on Salar de Uyuni.
08:00 pm Return to Uyuni
The sunset is really gorgeous, lots of time to take pictures. After the sun sets at around 7pm, you’ll stay for an hour more and watch some stars then start heading back at 8pm. Your half-day Uyuni Salt Flats tour itinerary will end gradually.
The Uyuni Salt Flats sunset tour will come to an end. Afterwards, you will on board the 4x4WD vehicle that will take you back to the city of Uyuni, where the Sunset tour ends.
NOTE: During the rainy season/weather (from December to March), we’ll provide gum boots. You will wear them to be able to explore the salt flats. Your licensed tour guide will take you to spots where it’s possible to see reflections of the night sky across the surface of the flats when it is under water. Last stop will be in an area with water and mirror reflection.
