PUNO HOTEL PICK-UP

Based on your request, you’ll be picked up at your selected Puno hotel or Kalapajra pier (if you’re staying on a Uros reed floating lodge) by your driver and then get transferred to Kasani border on a 2-hour 30-minute drive with optional photo stops along the way.
Just tell us when you’d like to be picked up at your address and our friendly driver will show up at your place on time. We’ll share his name and provide more details about the transfer the day before of the transfer.
SIGHTSEEING STOPS
If you’d like to stop off along the route then we recommend you to stop at:
Chucuito Temple of Fertility (25 minutes from Puno, S/7 soles per person), it’s the first Incan temple ever built dedicated to the fertility with mushroom like shapes.
Aramu Muru (1 hour 20 min from Puno, S/5 soles per person), see and marvel the low relieve stone carving and strange huge portal facing to east. Entrance fee should be paid in person at the site.
Pomata Lookout, the high pass between Puno and Kasani ideal to enjoy and admire how huge is the Lake and magnificent views to the Island of the Sun and snow peaks.

KASANI BORDER
On arrival at Kasani border, you will switch vehicles and walk across the border for about 5 minutes. Your Peruvian driver is going to introduce you to your new Bolivian driver at the Peruvian side.
If you’re not going to come back to Peru then you can exchange your Peruvian currency into Bolivian pesos at the exchange house which is located in front of the Peruvian immigration office.
Your new Bolivian driver is going to assist you across the Bolivian immigration office, you have to carry your luggage and walk for about 5 minutes towards the new vehicle.
The border crossing usually takes from 30 minutes up to 60 minutes if the place is not crowded or if you do not need a Tourist Visa to enter Bolivia.
If your nationality requires applying for the Tourist Visa, it might take 2 up to 3 hours depending if you bring all the documents and USD cash for the Visa payment.
KASANI TO COPACABANA
Once you’ve got your entry stamp on your passport, your driver will take you to the location of the new vehicle.
You’ll drive from Kasanai border to Copacabana for about 15 minutes. In Copacabana you could stop for a quick exploration or have lunch with nice Lake view at the Copacabana port (just let us know in advance).
COPACABANA TO LA PAZ
Then after, your driver will take you to La Paz on a 3 hour 30 minute drive going through the Strait of Tiquina and El Alto town.
At the Strait of Tiquina, 1 hour away from Copapcabana, there is no bridge; you have to cross by a local engine ferry (bring Bs10 Bolivian pesos for your tickets).
From Strait of Tiquina, you’ll drive directly to La Paz going through the El Alto town, popular by its traffic jam and chaotic streets.
If your hotel is located in Zona Sur Calacoto (Mitru Express, Rosario Sur, Atix, etc) there is an extra drive time of 20 minutes up to 30 minutes from downtown Main Square.
LA PAZ HOTEL DROP-OFF
Your driver will drop you off at your hotel in downtown or Zona Sur Calacoto, Bus Station or at the El Alto Airport.
