What You’ll Do
Your guide or a member team will meet you at your hotel in Ollantaytambo and walk you down to the Train Station, and then go to Machu Picchu main entrance.
You’ll get a guided tour of 2 hours covering the main attractions in the citadel. You’ll have free time to explore the site and go back to Aguas Calientes by bus and accompanied by your guide.
Your Tour Itinerary
6:30 am – Pick-up at your Hotel
Your driver will meet you at your hotel lobby and you will be transferred to the Train Station in Ollantaytambo. Board the Train to Machupicchu Town (Aguas Calientes), the town located at the base of Machu Picchu.
Hop aboard the sahred bus and take the short 25 min. journey up the hillside to the main entrance of Machu Picchu. Once there, head inside along with your private tour guide to explore the Inca Citadel on foot and enjoy a fully guided tour of this amazing site.
If you are interested in hiking, you can add the Huayna Picchu Mountain hike to your Day Tour (a 2-2.5 Hour round trip moderate hike, tickets are at extra cost and subject to availability, and there are limited spaces).
At the end of the tour, you return to Aguas Calientes Town and have time for lunch. After lunch, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, your driver will be there to drive back to your Hotel either in the Sacred Valley.

5:30 AM your driver would pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo if it is located at a considerable distance from the train station otherwise you can reach on foot.
> You should be at least 20 minutes before the train departure.
> The train ride takes 1 hour 45 minutes.
7:40 AM train arrival time in Aguas Calientes village.
> On arrival you are picked up by your guide at the Aguas Calientes train station and then walk down to the bus station for 10 min approx.
> You’ll drive for about 25 min up to the main entrance through serpent road.
8:30 AM estimated arrival time at the main entrance.
9:00 AM entry time to Machu Picchu site and 2 – 3 hour guided tour.
> We can reserve “Circuito 2- Circuito Clásico” and “Ruta 2-A: Ruta clásico diseñado”.
On this route you walk through the lower part of Machu Picchu without loosing the classic panoramic view of the citadel.
You’ll explore the urban part of the site and some altars which does not demand a huge physical effort. We consider it is a nice and proper route because there is a senior in your group.
If he is in a good physical shape then we can change it for the hiking to the uper part.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM estimated time to take the bus to go down to Aguas Calientes.
> You’ll go back to Aguas Calientes by bus and have lunch at one of the restaurants in the village (on your own way).
> By the late afternoon you’re going to return by train to Ollantaytambo.
3:20 PM you onboard the PeruRail Expedition 34
5:08 PM estimated arrival time at Ollantaytambo train station.
> Your driver picks you up and takes you back to your hotel on arrival.
