What You’ll Do

Your full day trip to Machu Picchu starts early in the morning, it is exclusively designed to start and end in Cusco or at the airport on a private car ride.

You’ll smoothly ride the PeruRail train from/to Ollantaytambo/Aguas Calientes on a round trip. Meet your guide at the train station and head to Machu Picchu. You’ll get back to Cusco through the same way.  

Your Tour Itinerary

4:00 am – Cusco to Ollantaytambo by car

Embark on your adventure with an early morning pickup between from your selected hotel in Cusco. Be prepared and waiting promptly at your hotel or Airbnb’s reception. A cozy vehicle will transport you through the enchanting Andean vistas, journeying for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to the Ollantaytambo train station.

7:00 am – 8:30 am Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes train ride

On arrival, your driver will assist you in embarking on the train, leaving towards the charming town of Aguas Calientes. This will be a 1 hour 45 minute train ride with breathtaking sceneries of the Urubamba River and the encompassing rugged terrain.

As you arrive in Aguas Calientes, your guide will be awaiting with a sign with your name on it. After an introductory meeting and receiving key instructions, enjoy 20 to 30 minutes of personal time to savor a coffee, pick some snacks, or visit the restroom.

Following that, you’ll queue for the bus embarking on a serpentine, 30-minute climb to Machu Picchu’s main entrance, estimated arrival.

Aguas Calientes to Cusco

The homeward train departs Aguas Calientes by the afternoon, delivering you back to Ollantaytambo station. Here, your driver and private vehicle will be ready to guide you back to Cusco by car, an approximate 1.45-hour drive, concluding your day with a hotel drop-off around 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
