What You’ll Do
You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Cusco (or in Sacred Valley) and get transferred to the Ollantaytambo town and drive up Yanamayo pass. You’ll descend through impressive landscape. Explore the local area and have lunch in Ollantaytambo.
After lunch you’ll ride towards Ollantaytambo archaeological site where you’ll get a guided tour. Following this visit you’ll have chance to descend through a single track. By the late afternoon you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco.
Your Tour Itinerary
7:00 am – Cusco to Ollantaytambo private transfer
After the pick-up at your hotel in Cusco, you’ll be transferred to Ollantaytambo on a 2-hour drive. Then after drive up to the Yanamayo Pass at 4,350 m/14,721 ft. – literally sky high.
What you’ll see from this high altitude are Inca terraces, waterfalls, and fields still farmed the traditional Andean way. Enjoy these views, as you ascend over 1500 meters from Ollantaytambo town.
The communities along the valley are known for their traditional culture, weaving and unique lifestyle. This drive takes about an hour extra.
On arrival at the Yanamayo Pass, your guide and driver will begin unloading the bikes while you have time to take photos and enjoy the amazing views of the valleys below and glaciers above.
From here, gear up for a thrilling downhill mountain bike ride through the Patacancha Valley, back to Ollantaytambo. The ride will be led by our experienced tour guide.
It includes a full-suspension mountain bike with hydraulic disc brakes, helmet, full-fingered gloves, and optional knee/shin pads. You will have plenty of time and opportunity to take photos, visit a secluded waterfall, and see several Inca archeological sites.
You’ll end the tour in Ollantaytambo, whereby our team will take you back to the restaurant in Ollantaytambo for lunch, head back to Cusco or get dropped off at the train station for the ride to Aguas Calientes.
