What You’ll Do
You’ll be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Yanico community on a 40-minute car ride.
Upon arrival meet a local man who takes you on a wooden boat around the shoreline, through the reeds spotting a variety of birds. Return to Puno in the evening.

Your guide plus driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive to Yanico community, located 40 minutes away from Puno downtown, besides the Puno to Juliaca highway.
Along the way your passionate guide will provide some clue information about the local tradition and history of Aymara kingdome ruling the basin of Lake Titicaca before Inca conquering.
On arrival at the local boat pier, meet a local man, onboard his wooden boat and venture through the reeds observing the first birds on the lake shoreline.
Your boatman will gently row his wooden raft across the calm and flat Lake Titicaca water, in an area belonging to Lake Titicaca National Reserve (usually closed to visitors).
Lake Titicaca Grebe
Lake Titicaca National Reserve has a suite of birds not found anywhere else in the world, and holds some of the most remarkable species in a land renowned for its amazing endemics.
This is an ideal area to watch for Titicaca grebe, an endemic bird to Peruvian and Bolivian High Plateau, and looking for them will make your Titicaca birding tour very especial.
After a unique and enjoyable experience in a quiet and peaceful landscape, our local expert will keep rowing his wooden boat on the way back to the shoreline pier after you observed more than 30 species of birds.
Bring snacks and water to enjoy them while slowly go back looking for some missed birds.
After 2 hours watching birds, you’ll be picked up by your driver again and transferred to your hotel.
