Kayaking at Uros
What You’ll Do
Transfer from your hotel to kayak dock. Glide your kayak through a beautiful spots of Lake Titicaca National Reserve. It’s a 40-minute paddling towards Uros Islands.
On arrival at the Uros floating Islands, learn clue insights from your guide about the process of building the islands. Head back to Puno city through a different or same water way.

Your Uros Kayak Adventure starts with the pick-up from your Puno hotel, quick 15-minute car ride to the Isla Esteves kayak dock.
You’ll wear the personal floatation device, enter in your kayak and stir on Puno’s bay Lake Titicaca. If it is your first time your English speaking guide will get you prepared for the 3 hours ahead and fitted into your kayaks. Get elemental kayak paddling instructions, paddling techniques and more.
Your Titicaca kayak tour guide takes you through unique Uros landscapes, at your own speed, a place where high plateau sky and lake is one, blue water ways, green carpeted reeds (from January to April) and native birds living around in their natural habitat all this will amaze you.
We will kayak throughout the heart of the Puno sector Lake Titicaca National Reserve, the habit of endemic and migrant birds just the perfect location for the reed manmade floating islands at Wily River.
Our 3 hour in Lake Titicaca National Reserve Puno sector will have us kayaking on calm water at our own pace, enjoying from the kayaks the beauty of the area.
10:30 am – Meet the Uros family
After 55 minutes paddling you’ll step on Uros reed Island or another similar Island located among the 100 Uros reed floating islands.
Your first impression will be how these magnificent islands would have been built? Just let your guide explain you about their origin, history, how long it lasts, way of life and more importantly how the islands are built.
Free time to explore the island and surroundings by reed boat (optional, extra payment of S/15 soles per person)
Finally, after almost two hours on floating village get back to the same local port by kayaks. Get transferred to your hotels upon arrival at the kayak dock at around 12.50 hrs.
