What You’ll Do
You’ll be transferred from your hotel to Chivay on a 3 hour 30 minute car ride. You’ll have breakfast in Chivay and then head to Colca Valley and Canyon.
You’ll see the majestic flight of the Condors over the Canyon. Later return to Chivay for lunch and head back to Arequipa or get dropped off in Chivay town.

3:00 am – Arequipa to Chivay

Your private driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and then after head to Chivay on a 3 hour car ride on the way to Colca Canyon, where you’ll stop for breakfast.

8:00 am – Condor Cross lookout
At this time, you’ll admire the impressive views of one of the deepest canyon in the world and see the majestic Andean Condor bird that may be spotted flying just over head (fingers crossed). Get up close and get amazing photos of these birds whose presence create a truly unique experience at the Canyon.
On the way back to Chivay (or when going to Condor Cross), youe’ll stop and visit the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, all small villages which have colonial churches, tombs, and pre-Inca terraces, and we’ll really gain glimpse of their way of life and see closely the impact of living in the second deepest Canyon in the world.
Some photo opportunities with Lamas, Alpacas and with local people typically dressed is offered during this visit.
12:00 pm – Buffet lunch in Chivay or nearby
Stop in Chivay to visit the hot springs of La Calera if you wish and then you will stop to have lunch at a local tourist restaurant (mostly offered buffet lunch).

On the way back to Arequipa, you’ll stop at Patapampa, an incredible viewpoint where you will see the Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca volcanoes side by side. This is also the highest point that you will reach at 4900 meters above sea level in Pampa Cañahuas.
17:30 pm – Arriving in Arequipa
You’ll arrive back to Arequipa and drop you off at your hotel or hostel door.
