9:00 am – Pick-up at Hotel
Your city tour of Arequipa starts with the pick-up at your hotel to head off to the Carmen Alto and Yanahuara lookout.

> Arequipa Main Square (Plaza de Armas), at the main square of Arequipa you’ll get clue insight from your private guide about the cathedral, surrounding archways, the history and local tradition and overall about the “Compañía de Jesús”
> Santa Catalina Monastery, it’s our next stop, a cloister from the colonial era that gradually became a small village over time, and which gives us a very good idea of what the buildings were like in the city of Arequipa during the 17th century.
After this visit, the service ends.
> Andean Sanctuaries Museum, in the museum you’ll appreciate and get explained about the Juanita mummy, a mummy that was found in the Ampato volcano, Urpicha mummy and Sarita mummy that was found in the Sara Sara volcano.
The museum displays a collection of polychromatic ceramic pieces, the Spondylus shells, woven dolls representing people, woven bags used to collect coca leaves, photographs of South American camelids, and archaeological remains of Human Sacrifices in the Misti volcano.
The museum exhibits Inca aryballus, ancient utensils, copper, silver, gold statuettes, wooden Qirus and a collection of metals that were used as indigenous offerings to the gods.
The itinerary might change slightly but it will definitely include the highlights listed above – during this tour, you will have an overview of Peruvian life and you will be taught about local history, fauna and food.
