Colca Canyon 2 Day Tour Itinerary
Colca Canyon Two Day Tour is a shared trip starting from Arequipa and ending in the same city, the next day. You basically drive from Arquipa to Chivay with some stops along the way (such as Patahuasi, Volcano viewpoint, and at nice places to see Llama, Alpaca herds) accompanied with an English-Spanish speaking tour guide.
On arrival to Chivay you’ll be dropped off at a hostel (included) and later you’ll be transferred to La Calera Hot spring water, relax and spend there for some hours, and finally in the late evening be part of a group dinner with typical music and dance performance (optional).
Next day after an early breakfast we’ll drive to Colca Valley with a series of stops on the way to Mirador Cruz del Condor (or simply on the way back after we’ve seen the Condors, finger cross!).
On the return from Colca Valley Tour we’ll have lunch, there are several tourist restaurants in Chivay and in one of these we can have a buffet lunch (price not included and optional).
Arequipa to Chivay (breakfast), then drive to Condor Cross, see the flight of Condors, return to Arequipa (after lunch and Calera).
After these two amazing days we have to finally go back to Arequipa city.
However if you are planning to travel next to Puno for your Lake Titicaca Tour then save time and money booking in advance 4-M bus ride from Chivay to Puno with a series of stops along the way (for an extra cost, not included).
Colca Canyon 2 Day Tour from Puno
When you are in Puno and want to go visiting the second deepest canyon in the world, travel directly to Chivay from Puno by a tourist bus with some short stops along the way. Most of Colca Canyon Tours and Treks begin in Arequipa, however booking in advance you can be picked up from your hotel in Chivay (which is the town on the way to Colca canyon).
Puno to Chivay land ride will take from 6 am to 12 pm. The highly recommended group/shared transport company is 4-m bus, although you would like to book with other cheaper companies Rutas del Sur or My Tour Peru.
There are some reliable tour agencies in Chivay, located on the main square next to the Catholic Church where you can book in person and on arrival, if you didn’t reserve.

If you’re booking a 2-day round-trip (Arequipa/Colca/Arequipa) 2 Day Colca Canyon Tour, just bring a small bag. Large luggage can be stored at your hotel/accommodation in Arequipa. But if planning to travel to Puno from Chivay bring all with you (there is enough room).
