What You’ll Do
Day 1: Your Uros Islands 2 Day Tour from La Paz begins with an early pickup at your hotel, Todo Turismo office or at the El Alto airport and a private transfer to Uros Islands via Desaguadero border for an overnight stay.
Day 2: After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Kalapajra pier from where you are picked up by our driver.
Your Tour Itinerary
Day 1: La Paz to Uros Reed Lodge
7:00 am (Bolivian time) – La Paz Bolivia to Puno port private transfer

At the scheduled time, you’ll be picked up at your hotel in La Paz, Todo Turismo Bus Station by one of our Bolivian drivers (Juan Carlos, Abel or Saul) and get transferred to Desaguadero border on a 2-hour 45-minute drive.
You’ll drive through El Alto town, popular by its traffic jam. Leaving early would be very convenient in order to avoid the crowded streets.
At the Desguadero borderline your Bolivian driver will assist you on crossing the border. The border crossing usually takes from 20 minutes up to 60 minutes. Your Bolivian driver will introduce you to your new Peruvian driver.
8:45 am (Peruvian time) – Desaguadero border to Puno car ride
Your new friendly Peruvian driver will pick you up in front of the Desaguadero immigration office and head to Puno city on a 2-hour 30-minute drive by a private comfortable vehicle with an optional stop at Aramu Muru doorway along the way.
11:00 am (Peruvian time) – Uros Floating Islands guided tour

On arrival at the Puno port, you’ll meet your private English speaking tour guide. Then onboard a private covered section motor boat to navigate to the Uros reed floating Islands for about 30 minutes.
The floating Islands of Uros people on Lake Titicaca are an ancient art engineering dating back from before the Incas, located 4 km away from Puno city, on the way your guide delivers clue information about Lake Titicaca facts and the ruling of the pre-Columbian civilizations.
Upon arrival at the floating Islands, you’ll disembark at one of the local family’s reed house. The friendly family will perform how the Islands are built just using Totora reed and root.
Later, as a complimentary activity, if you’d like to contribute to the local family, walk inside their reed house and get some reed souvenirs shopping opportunity or you could simply opt for riding a typical reed boat among the other Islands, with a spectacular scenery and landscape view.
Finally, you’ll make an optional stop at the “commercial Capital” Island to get Lake Titicaca souvenir stamps for an additional cost of S/2 soles (bring your passports) on your way to the Reed Floating Lodge.
Based on availability you’d stay at Kay Pacha Lodge, Qhantany Lodge, Posada del Titicaca Lodge or another similar.
After the extra 20 minute riding towards the Reed Lodge, you’ll disembark and enjoy the spectacular environment. Dinner will be served at about 7:30 pm.
Pick-up at El Alto Airport, La Paz
10:15 am (Bolivian time) – Pick-up at the El Alto airport
12:00 pm (Peruvian time) – Desaguadero border crossing and departure to Puno
2:30 pm (Peruvian time) – Arrival at Puno, Kalapajra pier and navigation to Uros floating Island, for this itinerary lunch is not included.

After an early breakfast at the Reed Lodge, the host family will transfer you to Kalapajra pier which is another local port close to mainland. Our driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Puno city, bus station or Juliaca airport (at extra cost).
