What You’ll Do
Day 1: Your Lake Titicaca 2 Day Tour from La Paz begins with an early pickup at your hotel, Todo Turismo office or at the El Alto airport and a private transfer to Uros Islands via Desaguadero border for an overnight stay.
Day 2: After the breakfast, onboard the speed group boat for exploring Taquile Island on a group guided tour ending in Puno city.
Your Tour Itinerary
Day 1: La Paz to Uros Reed Lodge
7:00 am (Bolivian time) – La Paz Bolivia to Puno port private transfer

At the scheduled time, you’ll be picked up at your hotel in La Paz, Todo Turismo Bus Station by one of our Bolivian drivers (Juan Carlos, Abel or Saul) and get transferred to Desaguadero border on a 2-hour 45-minute drive.
You’ll drive through El Alto town, popular by its traffic jam. Leaving early would be very convenient in order to avoid the crowded streets.
At the Desguadero borderline your Bolivian driver will assist you on crossing the border. The border crossing usually takes from 20 minutes up to 60 minutes. Your Bolivian driver will introduce you to your new Peruvian driver.
8:45 am (Peruvian time) – Desaguadero border to Puno car ride
Your new friendly Peruvian driver will pick you up in front of the Desaguadero immigration office and head to Puno city on a 2-hour 30-minute drive by a private comfortable vehicle with an optional stop at Aramu Muru doorway along the way.
11:00 am (Peruvian time) – Navigating to Uros Reed Lodge

On arrival at the Puno Kalapajra pier, a family member of the floating lodge will take you on their small engine boat to the lodge through the waterway and the reeds on a 20 – 30 minute ride.
The floating Islands of Uros people on Lake Titicaca are an ancient art engineering dating back from before the Incas, located 3 km away from Puno city.
The friendly family will show you your selected room, have lunch and ride a typical reed boat in the late afternoon. The reed boat ride does not include an English speaking tour guide.
Later, enjoy the sun setting over Lake Titicaca and the Puno Mountains. Dinner. Overnight.

10:15 am (Bolivian time) – Pick-up at the El Alto airport
12:00 pm (Peruvian time) – Desaguadero border crossing and departure to Puno
2:30 pm (Peruvian time) – Arrival at Puno, Kalapajra pier and navigation to Uros floating Island, for this itinerary lunch is not included.

Day 2: Uros Lodge to Taquile to Puno
9:10 am – Taquile Speed Group Boat Tour

After an early breakfast at the Reed Lodge, the host family will transfer you to the location of the group speed boat by a small engine boat.
You’ll join a group speed boat and meet the Spanish-English speaking group tour guide. The fast boat will depart towards Taquile Island “the men knitting Island” on a 1-hour 30 minute of navigation across the blue horizon.
On arrival at Taquile Island, you’ll walk up to the restaurant through the stone paved trail which might be a tortuous and exhausting ascension for some people.
Taquile is a natural steep Island ideal for hiking, enjoying great views of the Lake and surroundings.
Taquile’s location has allowed their customs be very well preserved throughout the Spanish invading. It is a place where men make their very own hats or “Chullos” since they are 6 years old age, where the wedding process can last almost 1 week.
At the restaurant, you’ll have lunch based on Quinoa soup, grilled trout or vegetable omelet accompanied with white rice and vegetables and Coca hot tea. Your guide delivers clue information about their art textile, tradition, natural shampoo usage and more.
By the afternoon onboard again the motor speed boat and head back to Puno city. Upon arrival at the Puno port you’ll be transferred to your hotel on a 15-minute car ride.
