What You’ll Do
Day 1: You’ll be collected from your hotel and transferred to the port by car, embark on a motorized boat and head to Amantani Island with a stop off at Taquile Island. Meals and accommodation will be provided by the lodge.
Day 2: After an early breakfast in Amantani, you’ll go back to Puno and get a guided visit at the Uros Islands and ride a reed boat on the way back to Puno city by the early afternoon.
Your Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Puno to Taquile to Amantani
8:30 AM – Hotel to Taquile Island
Amantani Island 2 Day Tour begins with pickup at your hotel in downtown Puno, a quick private transfer to the port of Puno where a motor boat waits for you. It’s a regular slow motor boat that has three parts: the inside, outside back and outside upper deck; there is also a basic bathroom on board.
11:00 AM – Disembark at Taquile Island
The private motor boat drops you off at the Salacancha pier of the elongated Taquile Island, where a steady walk along a well-paved path provides time to admire the scenery. You’ll see and encounter an ancient indigenous community dating back before the Incas that has learnt how to conserve its original, genuine traditions and Andean political organization throughout the time.
12:30 PM – Lake View lunch at Taquile

At the restaurant, you’ll have lunch consisting of Quinoa soup, grilled trout or vegetable omelet accompanied with rice and vegetables and Coca hot tea. Taquile’s location has allowed their customs be very well preserved throughout the Spanish invading. This is a place where you’ll get clue insights from your guide about the local men’s knitting their very own hats or “Chullos” since they are 6 years old age, where the wedding process can last almost 1 week and more.
1:45 PM – Taquile to Amantani boat ride

Onboard again the motor covered section private motor boat and head Amantani Island getting in roughly 1 hour, watching the first Island get smaller and the Amantani Island gets bigger.
2:45 PM – Arriving at Amantani Island
On arrival at the port, you’ll hike up a steep section to Henry and Mariluz house. Your friendly local hosts greet you with open arms. You’ll experience the local culture firsthand as you join a local family in their home.

After the check-in, you’ll get free afternoon for walking around or embark on a one hour hike to the lookout point and ceremonial centers of “Pachatata” or “Pachamama”. Enjoy one of the highlight of your Titicaca Trip by witnessing the mesmerizing sunset over the expansive Lake Titicaca, a sight that will etch itself in your memory.
7:30 PM – Dinner at the Lodge
Enjoy a tasty homemade dinner and rest in the comfort of your local lodge.

Day 2: Amantani to Uros to Puno
8:00 AM – Amantani to Uros boat ride
After an early breakfast at Amantani house, descend through the ancient trail down to the port to onboard again the motor boat and head back to Puno city. You’ll traverse the endless blue horizon of Lake Titicaca.
10:45 AM – Uros Islands guided Tour
After 2 hour 45 minute boat ride on your way from Amantani Island to Puno, you’ll arrive at the Reed floating Islands.
The boat stops off at Uros reed floating Islands for a guided visit. Your guide will provide clue information about the unique way of life, and the natural source that provides home, transportation and sustenance for the residents.

The surface of the islands is uneven, thin, and some liken walking on it to walking on a waterbed.
Locals will invite you walk inside their reed house where they will show you their embroideries, tapestries and reed souvenirs. As a complementary activity, you’ll ride a traditional reed boat provided by the families.
12:45 PM – Uros Islands to Puno boat ride
After 2 hour stop at Uros reed islands including an optional last stop at a commercial reed Island, you’ll find yourself navigating on the way to Puno port.
1:30 PM – Drop-off at your hotel/bus terminal
Lake Titicaca 2 Day Tour from Puno comes to an end by the afternoon. Your driver will pick you up at the port and transfer you to your hotel or city center.
