What you’ll do on Lake Titicaca Mountain Biking Tour (Tour Itinerary)
8:30 am Pick-up from your hotel in Puno city or from any Uros floating lodge (from Kalapajra pier). The driver and your bike guide come to your hotel bringing the mountain cycling equipment and gear.
9:30 am Arrival to Charcas Lake Titicaca shoreline dusty road. On arrival quick instructions and lesson about how to use properly use gear and ride behind your guide.
9:45 am After a brief introduction of what you’ll do during this special day, you start pedaling. First kilometer will be to warm up and find your rhythm.
On the way you’ll take in sight some local farm houses, animals, crop fields and after pedaling almost 2 hours we are going to reach the highest point on the shoreline of Lake Titicaca.
There will be plenty of time to explore the place and meet the local people. You’ll learn about their textiles and herb uses. You’ll even have time to visit the highest point (lookout). From here you’ll see far away the Bolivian snowy peaks and Taquile and Sun Islands.
Cycle to Sillustani (2 hours), cross Umayu lagoon by a wooden boat and get tombs tour, lunch at Hatuncolla (visit farm house).
11:45 pm On the way back after a unique way to spend the day, we’ll do a last section pedaling until Acora. Then after we’ll head back to Puno. Lunch at local restaurant overlooking the Lake.
