Day 1: Uros Reed Floating Islands and Amantani Island
This trip is operated in Lake Titicaca Peru. We navigate from Puno port to Uros reed islands, after a quick transfer from your hotel, on arrival to Uros you’ll learn from your English-Spanish speaking group guide how the Uros people managed to survive from fierce and warrior civilizations and ended up living on Lake Titicaca until nowadays.
Learn how Lake Titicaca floating islands are made out of reeds, and how often maintenance is made.
Local Uros people offer you to step on their typical reed boat and ride to the next reed island for about 20 min (extra payment not included).
Finally leave Uros floating village to go to Amantani. A natural island located 2 hours 45 minutes of navigation away from Uros.
Lunch, dinner and accommodation at Amantani islanders’ houses. In the late afternoon hiking to Pacha Tata Temple.
Day 2: Amantani Island to Taquile & Overnight on Uros floating Islands
Early breakfast and direct navigation from Amantani to Taquile Island. Upon arrival visit Taquile’s most finest art textile and beautiful landscape. Hiking and lunch at a community restaurant.
On the way to Amantani visit Uros, stay at family houses and next day hiking and lunch on the men knitting island (Taquile).
On the way from Taquile to Puno, we’ll stop at Uros reed islands being dropped by the boat on one of the reed floating islands to experience the local daily basis and get a glimpse of the ancient Uros people Lake Titicaca floating houses building process.
Our local Uros host is going to take us on his reed boat to the carpeted marshes and teach us how it should be cut, a pleasant riding at the nearly sunset.
Day 3: Uros Islands to Puno city
After this local experience we return to Puno. Transfer from Uros to Kalapajra port and drive back to your hotel in Puno.
