Then after, you’ll be on your way to Ollantaytambo train station on a 1 hour 45 minute drive.

On arrival, your friendly driver will drop you off at the train station and assist you on how to board the train. Have your passport and train ticket in hand, as the train staff will require your passport and compare it with your ticket before you board.

Day 2: Machu Picchu to Lima

Early in the morning, your guide will meet you at hotel and walk down to the bus station then board the tourist bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu’s main entrance.

During the bus ride, you’ll appreciate the Putucusi Mountain and the running of the Vilcanota River. The bus will follow a zigzag path until it arrives at the citadel. The bus ride lasts about 30 minutes.

Once at Machu Picchu, you have to show your passport and entry ticket at the main checkpoint, where the ranger will verify the information. After the check-in, you and your guide will enter Machu Picchu site and walk with your guide to the initial point of your designated circuit.

During the guided tour inside the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, our professional tour guide will introduce you to the most significant attractions, providing insightful explanations during the two-hour and 30-minute exploration (depending on the duration permitted by your ticket).

It is highly recommended to take photos of Machu Picchu from the initial point, as the rules have changed: your ticket is valid for one-way entry only, and revisiting the starting point is not permitted after the guided tour concludes. Therefore, don’t forget your camera and relish the visit to “One of the New 7 wonders of the World”.

After the guided tour in Machu Picchu, you can choose to climb one of the two mountains offered by Machu Picchu: Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. You have to book it in advance, or we can do it for you at additional extra cost.

Then after, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes village, where you can have lunch (not included on the tour). Aguas Calientes is a small tourist place with many restaurants offering both traditional Andean and international cuisine.

In the afternoon, you’ll take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where your driver will be waiting in front of the train station to transfer you to Cusco airport on time. Based on flight tickets and train tickets we’ll customize your itinerary that you can make stops along the way in the Sacred Valley.
