Before you go read what our client has commented about Paramis Homestay and Titicaca Kayak Experience Tour:
Private Paddle on Lake Titicaca
Our one night/two day private paddling tour on Lake Titicaca with Edison was a standout highlight of our Peru trip. From ease of booking to the door-to-door service, Edison and his support team took care of us every step of the way in a professional yet highly personal manner.
Our round-trip included an overnight Homestay with Maralena and her lovely family on Amantani island. Their hospitality was flawless. The next day started with an early morning 10 km paddle to Tequile island and then another private family welcome to the iconic reed islands of Uros.
While the lake paddling was the true activities, it was all the people involved that took this experience beyond expectations. Edison takes very good care of his guests and is an incredible source of information. We could discuss any topic and I always came away with learning something new.
If you are a decent paddler, the total 26 km over two days is do-able. There was also the option of a final paddle from Uros back to Puno Bay which we did not do. Edison and our boat driver, Valeri, was with us at all times. As two women, we felt safe every minute.
The food we had was delicious! What a treat to have a meal cooked over a wood-fire and ingredients right from the garden.
A few tips that worked for us: Pack extra layers for the overnight stay on Amantani if you go during the colder periods.
Sunscreen and re-apply when on the water Consider purchasing textiles/woven items from the co-op market on Tequile because not only is the quality the best that we saw, the money goes directly to the people who make these items by hand.
