At 6:00 am pick-up and transfer from your hotel to kayak pier, then we’ll paddle to South Uros by double seater kayaks while you’re observing the birds there’s someone else stirring for you. Later we’re exploring Uros islands by paddling and we’ll have breakfast on a floating island before heading back to Puno.
Uros Titicaca Grebe Birding Itinerary
6:00 am pick-up from your hotel and drive to Chimu community on the Puno-Desaguadero highway.
6:15 am arrival to the shore of the Lake and get in the double kayak, there will be someone who is kayaking for you while you just enjoy watching the first birds in the water and near the carpeted reeds. Spend the time observing the local and endemic Titicaca grebe. Your guide provides some clue information about the local life style and history.
At Southern Uros section, you’ll mainly find Titicaca grebe, if you want to watch a variety of migrant and local birds then departing at 6:00 am from Puno to Yanico community (Lake Titicaca Reserve) you’ll watch many types of birds from a silent wooden rowing boat.
7:30 am after this incredible morning we’re heading to Northern Uros by kayak for breakfast and chill out on one of the reed floating islands of the Uros people.
8:30 am arrival and disembark on the floating island.
10:00 am arrival to Kalapajra pier and drive to your hotel in Puno city.
