What You’ll Do
Day 1: Sun Island Homestay Touris a 2 day guided boat trip from Copacabana. Meet your guide at your hotel and then walk down to the port, from where you’ll onboard the private motor boat to head Isla del Sol.
Day 2: Lake Titicaca 2 Day Tour from Copacabana continues on to Moon Island this day that guarantees a unique way of skipping the spoiled touristy places. You’ll arrive in Copacabana by the middle day.
Your Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Copacabana to Isla del Sol
10:00 am – Copacabana to Isla del Sol lodge

Your guide is going to meet you at your hotel in Copacabana then walk down to the port. At the Copacabana harbor you’ll meet up with your boatman, who is taking you across the Lake.
The motorized boat will set off from Copacabana to the Yumani port, along the way you’ll see and enjoy beautiful Lake Views. You’ll traverse the blue horizon and hit the largest Island on Lake Titicaca.
While navigating your guide will have you well informed about Lake Titicaca facts and history of pre Columbian cultures.
The rocky island of Isla del Sol lies on the South end of the vast Lake Titicaca. According to Inca mythology the Lake and the Isla del Sol are considered the birthplace of the first Inca Emperor – Manco Capac and his wife Mama Ocllo – created by the Sun God (Inti God).
12:45 pm – Lunch with Lake overlooking
You’ll arrive at Tacana Restaurant, located on the lower part of the Island and locally owned, offers great views. Here, Vicky will wait for your arrival with a tasty Trout or Chicken lunch prepared with local products and ingredients. You’ll enjoy of the traditional Apthapi lunch.
Arrival time at Pilcocaina port and near is located Illimani Lodge where you’ll stay the night, have lunch (if available), dinner and breakfast the next day. If Illimani lodge is not available then we’ll book another similar.
Following that, your local expert guide takes you through the ancient path and old remains to the Garden of the Inca, the Water Fountain, the Grand stone stairs and restaurant in Yumani community. The Island of the Sun, considered as the birthplace of the Inca Empire, arises in the blue horizon.
Your friendly guide will take you the archaeological site for a walk and guided visit. Enjoy with plenty of time the beautiful of the landscape and tradition of the birthplace of the Inca.
8:00 pm – Dinner and Overnight at Sun Island Lodge
You’ll have dinner and explanation about the art textile and customs.

Day 2: Isla de La Luna to Copacabana
8:30 am – Isla del Sol to Isla de la Luna
After an early breakfast at Illimani lodge (or similar), your boat will be ready to head to Isla de la Luna, you’ll be accompanied with your guide and navigate for one hour.
Upon arrival at Isla de la Luna, you’ll follow a steep and short trail until you reach to the first Inca building. You’ll learn about Tiwanaku Civilization and the purpose of the Island.
You’ll enjoy views of the snow peaks in the eastern side of Lake Titicaca and the highest peaks in Bolivia.
12:00 pm – Arriving in Copacabana
Then after your Moon Island guided tour will come to an end. You’ll walk down to the port and head back to Copacabana.
You’ll reach Copacabana port and end of Sun Island Homestay Tour.
