What You’ll Do
You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Puno city and transferred to the local port, onboard the private motor boat and head to Uros Islands.
On arrival, you’ll do local activities such as riding a typical reed boat, cutting reeds and have lunch before returning to Puno.
Your Tour Itinerary
10:00 am – Hotel to Puno port

You’ll be collected from your hotel in Puno city and transferred to Puno port on a 15-minute drive.
10:15 am – Puno port to Uros Islands
Onboard your private engine boat and begin your voyage to the 30 min away journey to Floating Islands, in which you can absorb the tranquility and stillness of the magnificent Lake Titicaca, only disrupted by the passing of another vessel and the sound of the birds.
As you approach your destination, take note of the large, grass-like reeds growing by the wayside, which are famously used in the construction of the islands you’re about to visit.
Practice your Aymara greetings with your guide, and get ready to meet the Uros people, who are eagerly waiting to receive you.
10:45 am – Riding a Reed Boat
On arrival, you’ll be helped down onto dry reed land, and shown around one of the islands located in the Northern or Southern side.
Meet the local inhabitants, and take a typical reed boat, a local man will take you to the marshes of Totora reeds where your guide explains you about the origin, history and the process of building reed houses and floating Islands.
You’ll see the way they live, and learn from your guide just how vital the Totora reed is for this community.

In this modern day and age, it is rare to find a community who has such a special relationship with their surrounding environment, and with such an ingenious way to live sustainably.
Local activities are provided and run by the Uros people islanders, the income generated by your visit benefits the entire family, allowing them to preserve their traditional way of life based on building reed raft, fishing, cutting reeds, constructing reed floating Islands and weaving (embroideries made by women).
12:30 pm – Have Lake overlooking lunch
Taste the local food based on Trout, Quinoa, salads, fruits dessert and hot drinks. You’ll have lunch at one of the reed floating Islands with stunning views of the Lake.
3:00 pm – Drop-off at your hotel
Following the lunch, you’ll make your way back to the same port. On arrival at the port, you’ll be picked up by your driver transferred back to your hotel in Puno city.
