Paddle to Uros reed islands in the late afternoon after you’ve arrived from Cusco, Arequipa, Copacabana or La Paz by bus. Our driver will pick you up from where you are and keep your luggage if it is required to gain time or be collected from your hotel.
This kayak trip is a round-trip paddling to enjoy the scenic view of the Uros reed man made islands from the kayak without stepping on one of those islands and catch the typical carpeted reed landscape at its most glorious time…Sunset.

Kayaking to Uros Islands
I had a wonderful time with Edison on the kayaking trip to the Uros Islands. It was beautiful and there was a lot of wildlife to se. Edison was very informative and professional, and he explained the history of the Lake Titicaca region as well as how the islands are built. The hotel in the Uros Islands was very comfortable and the food was good. I had a great time!
Tour Overview
- 4:00 pm transfer from your hotel to kayak dock.
- 4.15 pm arrival to the launching point and meet your guide.
- 4:20 pm you begin paddling to Uros Islands.
- 5:10 am arrival time to the set of floating islands.
- 5:30 am after exploring the area, we’ll getting back to same departure point.
- 6:15 pm arrival time to the local port and return to hotels by a van.
Your route & detailed tour description
Hotel/bus station/train station pick-up
Roberto/Isidro is the person who will drive you from your hotel to the kayak launching point. It usually takes 15 min including traffic jam. Land transfer is included in the price our prices.
Huata to Llachon by retro road bike, lunch, hiking/kayaking at sunset, overnight. Kayak to Taquile, lunch, paddle from Uros/Puno.
After driving by the scenery of Puno bay you meet your kayak guide and see the water way (important: before you get the confirmation email you have the option to select between a single kayak and a double kayak).
On the way to Uros
You’ll paddle on calm, tranquil and shallow water although a little bit windy in the late afternoon, bring warm clothe.
The landscape is overall surrounded by reeds the material Uros population gets for making their floating homes.
Paddle around Uros Islands
The best choice to appreciate the gorgeous view of the combination of water and reed islands is doing by kayaks.
Due to lack of time we won’t be able to encounter with the local islanders. However we’ll see them in their daily basis.
Time to return
So after this short exploration by your kayak we’ll then return by kayaks to the same departure point. Get the last views of the place by paddling slow without hurries.
Upon arrival the driver will transfer you to your hotel.
