2-Day: Uros Homestay & La Paz

First day you’ll get a private guided boat tour to Uros Islands, explore the less touristy places, be participant of their local activities and spend the night on a reed Island Lodge.
Next day after breakfast a quick motor boat transfer from Uros Island to the local port, you’ll be picked up and then head to Desaguadero, on the way get some photo stops at Aramu Muru Doorway and Pomata Lake view point.
On arrival to Desaguadero border you’ll meet your Bolivian guide and driver, and then go to Tiwanaku for lunch and guided visit at its archaeological site. Finally, later get transferred to La Paz.
What you’ll do (Tour Description)
DAY 1: Puno, Uros Floating Island Boat Trip, Local Activities , Uros Overnight + Meals
8.45 am after the pick-up from your hotel in Puno city, we head down to the port.
Here, our boat man will take us to the less touristy and crowded place to the Southern Uros Islands. We’ll get to know how this people make their floating homes, more importantly we’ll be part of the process of building an Island, we are not watcher, we’ll be doers.
Day 1: Uros and Amantani overnight. Day 2: go to Taquile Island (lunch). Day 3: drive from Puno to the border, then Tiwanaku tour and La Paz.
11:00 am the boat navigates toward the Northern side of Uros Uros Floating Islands. Here we'll have lunch and spend the night. These islands are eco-lodges with facilities included. You can choose among Aruma Uro Lodge, Uros Summa Paqarina Lodge, Qhantany Lodge or Khantaty Lodge.
Day 2: Uros, Puno, Chucuito, Aramu Muru, Lake View Point, Desaguadero, Tiwanaku, Lunch and La Paz Transfer
6:30 am suggested time to have breakfast, as private service breakfast can be arranged for later.
7:30 am a member of the lodge will transfer you from Uros lodge to the local Uros Kalapajra port where our private vehicle will be waiting to take you to the Desaguadero border.
Along the way there are three stops. The first one is at Chucuito temple of fertility an interesting Inca building dedicated to Pachamama.
The second stop is located 1h 10min away from Chucuito, at first glance you'll see a stone sculpture of a giant portal in the landscape, spectacular natural rock formation scenery.
Our last stop will be at the lookout of Pomata, appreciate in yhe distance the Sun Island and the Snowy mountains in Bolivia.
10.00 am Finally we get to Desaguadero. Our Bolivian guide will help you cross the border and lead you to the Bolivian vehicle. This process usually takes less than 30 min if you don't require Toutist Visa to enter Bolivia.
11.30 am (in Bolivia is one hour ahead) out Bolivian counterparts are taking you to Tiwanaku site for 35 min. At the site you have lunch and get the guided visit to the main attractions such as Puma Punku, the temple of Kalasasaya, Akhapana pyramid, the two museums, and the subterranean temple.
You estimated time is about 4 hours including lunch time.
4:00 pm at this time you're heading to La Paz (maybe earlier, up to you and the situation).
6.30 pm estimated arrival time to downtown La Paz hotels, if your hotel is in the Southern La Paz that will take 20 min more of drive. Our guide will accompany you until your hotel.
