On Uros sunrise kayak tour, you will experience a unique side to the floating islands. The water is calm, flat and glassy, due to paddling before the rest of the conventional boat tours!
Enjoy spectacular color changes in the sky as the dawn light reflects off the clouds and the water, then watch as the sun hits the horizon, lighting up the sides of the Capachica and Chucuito peninsulas.
As you sit and take in the serenity, you can relax in your kayak, just in front of the spectacular reed houses and later enjoy a fresh, hot coffee of your choice from Khantati or Qhantany lodge, delivered when sunrise is gone.

This early morning paddle covers the beautiful foreshore of Puno Bay and Lake Titicaca National Reserve. It’s perfect for those who are fairly new to kayaking, as well as more experienced kayakers who enjoy and appreciate the early morning sunrise and a good coffee/breakfast.
What you’ll do
Your 4 hours of Lake Titicaca National Reserve Kayak Trip from Puno city will have us kayaking on calm water at our own pace, enjoying from the kayaks the beauty of the sunrise; visit a reed home floating island to encounter with the Uros islands builders.

- 5:00 am transfer from your hotel to kayak dock.
- 5.15 pm arrival to the launching point and meet your guide.

Uros Sunrise
Catch the Lake Titicaca National Wildlife Reserve Refuge at its most glorious time... Sunrise. Launch just before twilight into the stillness of the morning to catch the sunrise and all the wildlife activity that begins with the cresting of the sun. After sunrise you'll see Titicaca grebe (endemic bird to high Plateau), white tufted grebe and Puna teal, Rudy duck the many birds that make the refuge their home all beginning their day.
Kayak to Uros, and then go by boat to Llachon, paddle again to Taquile Island.
Immerse in its local culture and art textile.
In the fall and winter months there is the added gift of all the migratory birds that winter with us. Come see for yourself and experience the stillness, beauty and tranquility of early morning on the reed marshes refuge.
