3-Day: Llachon Homestay & La Paz Tour

First day private transport from Juliaca airport to the community of Llachon. Later, local activities and homestay.
Next day the boat leaves Llachon to Taquile Island, hiking, art textile explanation and lunch. Later on the way back to Puno you'll visit the reed islands.
Return to Puno city by boat, upon arrival you're transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle.
The third day you will travel from Puno to Desaguadero border. On the border your Bolivian guide and driver take you to Tiwanaku for lunch and guided excursion.
Finally, the private transport takes you to La Paz accompanied by your guide.
What you’ll do (Tour Description)
DAY 1: Juliaca Airport, Llachon, Overnight
12:10 pm we assume you're landing from Cusco (LATAM flight), this is a private tour so we can customize the itinerary.
1:45 pm arrival to Valentin's house in the community of Llachon. Great location house overlooking the Lake Titicaca. On arrival we'll have lunch, later in we have the opportunity to hike up to its sacred mountain to enjoy the view.
7:00 pm dinner time. And just after we finish our meal, we're going to be introduced to their art textile. Your guide takes his time to explain about the tradition and customs about this less touristy community.
Day 2: Llachon, Taquile, Uros, Puno city.
7:00 am breakfast.
9:00 am we'll say goodbye to the family. This morning we walk down to the port to take the sailing wooden boat which is taking us to the next pier, along the way we observe the landscape, pre-Incan terraces, fishing activity.
9.30 am out motor boat will picks us up and navigate to the next Island. It is about 30 minutes to reach to Taquile. A place where its inhabitants still preserve the traditional art textile.
10:00 am we start our exploration and hiking in Taquile. A 35 min walking stone paved path leads up to the small Plaza de Armas. Free time to rest and enjoy the view over the lake.
11.30 am lunch in one of the restaurants, usually on the way back down to Alsuno port. Where the boat later will takes to Puno.
During or after lunch history, culture, art textile tradition is delivered by your English speaking guide.
1:00 pm departure by boat from Taquile to Uros reed islands. 2h 30 min of navigation toward Uros.
3:30 pm we step on one of the reed islands, and we're going to learn everything about this ancient Uros ethnic group. The way they make their islands is also provided by the guide. Free time to ride the reed boats.
5:20 pm arrival to Puno port and transfer to your hotel.
Day 3: Puno, Desaguadero, Tiwanaku, lunch, La Paz
7:30 am suggested time for departing towards Desaguadero borderline from Puno city.
Along the way you might want to stop for the last picture over Lake Titicaca at the lookout of Pomata, appreciate in the distance the Sun Island and the Snowy mountains in Bolivia.
10:00 am meet our Bolivian counterparts, our tour guide will help you cross the border of Peru and Bolivia. This process could take some 15 to 35 min. After this “held hand” crossing you start the drive to Tiwanaku archaeological site, 35 min away from Desaguadero.
On arrival have lunch at Pachamama restaurant or any other place.
All the time you are accompanied with your English speaking guide.
After lunch the guided tour of Tiwanaku site begins.
4:00 pm Bolivian hour, you all head to La Paz, which is about 2h 30min approx.
Later, when approaching La Paz city you can stop and take a panoramic picture of the city surrounded by the snow mountains. Drop-off by your downtown hotel or if it is colated in southern La Paz then some 20min extra to get there.
